Admissions

What happens now….

  1. After you have been informed of the permanent exclusion Genine Nuttall, the Local Authority Inclusion Officer will be in touch with you to arrange a home visit. Genine will talk through your rights to appeal the permanent exclusion and will offer any support you may need in this process.

  1. You will also be contacted by Dawn, our admin officer, to arrange a meeting at the Sheffield Inclusion Centre, Spring Lane.

  1. When you arrive at the school you will meet Dawn and she will go through the information we need from you – including a photo of your son or daughter for our files.

  1. Then you will have a meeting with Tuesday Rhodes (Headteacher) who will have an informal chat with you about your son or daughter and together will design a plan of assessment, support and a pathway. You will also talk about transport and the practicalities of starting a new school.

  1. At this point you will feel relieved and reassured!

  1. We want to get your son or daughter back into education as soon as possible and legally we have 6 days to do this from the day you are informed of the exclusion, so the turnaround from meeting to first day at school can be quick.

  1. Your son or daughter will have a form tutor or learning mentor and they will be the first point of contact for you. You will receive phone calls, texts or emails (whichever ever suits you) every day in the first week and there after at least three times a week.

  1. Despite the form tutor/learning mentor being the first point of contact, please do not hesitate to call reception to request a call back from any staff.
